Our foals are handled at birth and daily until they leave for their new homes.  I start worming them when they are one month old and worm every 6 weeks until they are a year old.  All of our foals love people.  If you buy a foal here at the ranch you can leave it here until it is 5 months old for no extra charge. We will keep your foal here during months 6, & 7  for $75 each month plus any medications, worming, & trimming etc., after that board will be $150 per month.  Long term board will be $200 per month starting on the 6th month. Once the foal is purchased it is your foal and you should insure the foal at that time.  We can arrange transportation at the buyers expense. Currently (Jan, 2002) it is costing $400 to ship a foal to Texas.  $650 to Mississippi, $500 to Indiana. $500 to Virginia & South Carolina. I have purchased insurance from Northwest Equine Insurance.  It is currently costing 7% of the value for foals with a minimum policy cost of $150.
